I've realized that many of our students are having a hard time writing and/or speaking about topics related to the environment. So, for those who want to expand their vocabulary and/or knowledge, here is a useful list of environmental issues provided by Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_environmental_issues
Furthermore, it is always a good idea to use Wikipedia or any other websites to prepare in advance for the IELTS Speaking module on popular topics such as "advertising", "favorite website", "favorite movie", "favorite actor/actress", "description of a modern building", "description of a museum", "favorite sport/athlete", "description of food", etc.
For instance, here are some of the links I would visit and read if I were to prepare for the IELTS Speaking module:
* Advertising: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advertising
* Website: Facebook
* Favorite movie: Armaggedon
* Favorite actor/actress: Russell Crowe/ Sandra Bullock
* Modern builing: Taipei 101
* Museum: National Palace Museum
* Favorite sport/athlete: Tennis/Roger Federeror Formula 1/Michael Schumacher
* Food: Stinky tofuor "asado"
I understand that these might be a lot of materials to digest in a short period of time, but you must remain confident, determined, and motivated to persevere in your efforts to score high in your exam. All in all, English is one of the most popular languages in the world and it will surely come in handy regardless of your career goals.
